This is a route up into the hills behind Muir of Ord and Beauly, you can form a round trip or place a car at either end for return transport. I’ve only ever completed the route Glen Orrin to Erchless as it gets the climb out of the way early, but it could be done either way. The off road portions are on 4×4 trails of varying quality, all good fun though.
Starting at Muir of Ord the route heads past the distillery to Aultgowrie, where you ride up through Ferintosh Estate to the Orrin Reservoir which forms part of the Conon hydro electric scheme. From here it’s 4×4 track all the way to Erchless Forest, after which just follow the road down the glen to your starting point.
